Brynne has been a rigorous practitioner of Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga for over 6 years. After graduating with a degree in International Studies and Cultural Anthropology from Michigan State University, Brynne moved to Washington DC to work in the International Development Field. It was in Washington DC that she submerged herself in yoga, and embraced a rigorous practice as a release from the fast paced Washingtonian life style.
As her personal practice developed, over the years she became increasingly inspired to share the infinite benefits that yoga brings to one’s mind, body and spirit. In love with the discipline, she moved back to Hawaii and took an intensive 200-hour training with Yoga Hawaii, and shortly after began teaching. Brynne continues to study Vinyasa with Seane Corn and in early 2008 completed her 8-month pregnancy apprenticeship with Cathy Louise Broda of Purple Yoga.
Brynne has embarked upon the journey of becoming a professional yoga instructor as well as a pioneer in the field of yoga education for youth. She received her Master’s Degree in 2007, from the Department of Education at the University of Hawaii. Inspired to teach yoga to children, Brynne studied intensively with Yoga Ed. becoming both an instructor and trainer. For her thesis, she successfully implemented Yoga Ed. into Jarrett Middle School’s after school program and studied how yoga affects children both physically and emotionally.
Brynne was chosen to be an Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica, working with Lulu to promote community yoga events in Hawaii. Brynne teaches kids and adult yoga classes at Purple Yoga and Yoga Ed. classes at public and private schools across Oahu. With her passion for the world and children Brynne has lead the way taking Yoga Ed. to Asia and has taught trainings in both Japan and the Philippines. With her passion for yoga and life, Brynne aspires to help children, teens and adults around the world find inner peace through yoga. |
